Join us for our 2nd panel discussion on AI, “The Intersection of AI and Cybersecurity” co-hosted by the The Venture Forum, WPI Business Development Lab and Massachusetts Biomedical Initiatives (MBI).

A panel of experts in will discuss the latest concepts and real life applications of AI as it applies to cybersecurity.

Our Moderator:

Monty Sharma – CEO, Unamed Game Studio

Monty Sharma started his first two companies while still a student at Dalhousie University and learned some painful lessons. He went on to build a career in start-ups, product innovation and helping young entrepreneurs.

He is currently in the early stages of building a game studio for and about the middle-aged gamer combing fun and research.

Formerly he was the Managing Director of Massdigi at Worcester Polytechnic (WPI) where he led efforts to fill gaps between industry and academia.

He also works with MIT Sandbox to mentor the next generation of start-ups. His research has been focused on the earliest stages of game and company development. With the MIT Explorer program he is extending the mentorship and research to a joint program in Morocco.

Prior to Massdigi he was co-founder and VP of Product for Vivox, a voice chat service provider in the games industry. He oversaw product and marketing for a company that served over 60 million users around the world. With key relationships with EA, Ubisoft, Sony, CCP Iceland, and many others, Vivox has been acquired by Unity.

Sebastian Barriga – Applied-AI Investor, General Partner Milemark Capital

Sebastian is a Private equity and angel investor with nine years in Carlyle South America’s $358M Fund, invested in 6 companies in 3 countries, exited largest investment in 2020 for $400M. Investment Banking with Citigroup in NY and Mexico; 7x Board Member; Angel Investor in 10+ startups with advisory board positions. MIT Assistant Lecturer, MIT Delta V participant, assisted closely in the creation of an MIT HealthTech venture. YPO member.

 

Trave Harmon – Founder & CEO of Triton Technologies

Trave has always been involved in technology, starting with his first Commodore VIC-20 at age 5. In high school, he took college classes at night becoming AutoCAD certified, business management trained through Woodstock Academy in Woodstock Connecticut along with network engineering classes. In 1996, one day after high school graduation, Trave started working for an ISP in Marlborough known as Quest Technologies of Massachusetts, leaving after it was acquired.

He started working with his father until he turned over his business to Trave in 2001. In May 2001, he created an LLC and Triton Technologies was born. Trinton’s founding belief is that when a business makes the right technological decisions, it can grow, prosper and develop into a profitable company without the hindrances of previous types of technology and implementations

 

Brian Haugli – CEO, SideChannel (“SDCH”)

Brian has been driving security programs for two decades and brings a true practitioner’s approach to the industry. He creates a more realistic way to address information security and data protection issues for organizations. He has led programs for the DoD, Pentagon, Intelligence Community, Fortune 500, and many others. Brian is a renowned speaker and expert on NIST guidance, threat intelligence implementations, and strategic organizational initiatives.

Brian is the contributing author for the latest book from Wiley, “Cybersecurity Risk Management: Mastering the Fundamentals Using the NIST Cybersecurity Framework“.

Lastly, he is a professor at Boston College, in the Woods College of Advancing Studies, Master’s Program in Cybersecurity.

 

Richard Moore III – CEO of CyberSix, Inc.

CyberSix provides cybersecurity services to a variety of industries including Fortune 1000, 500, and 100 companies. Rich is a 15 Year Marine Corps veteran who rose through the ranks to become the Corps Intelligence Chief. He has held senior positions with the Royal Bank of Scotland, Alvarez and Marsal, and New Your Life. He was an invitee for the Worcester inaugural Homecoming event in May 2022 that brought successful business and community leaders with a connection to Worcester back to the city.

Rich is the author of “Cyber Intelligence-Driven Risk: How to Build and Use Cyber Intelligence for Business Risk Decisions”
